Shock Absorbers

Shock absorbers keep the tyre in contact with the road at all times. They cushion the road impact, prevent excessive chassis rebound and generally improve road handling.

If the front of your car dips when braking, is swayed by side winds or feels like it is handling poorly, you could have faulty shock absorbers.

Worn shock absorbers can cause the following:

Increased Braking Distancebecause the tyre loses its optimum grip.
Can Cause Travel Sickness
and Driving Fatigue
Gradual Wear Means
They Often Go Unnoticed
the driver unknowingly adjusts their driving style to compensate
Can Cause Aquaplaning
In Wet Weather Conditions
as they will not keep the tyre firmly on the road surface and the water underneath the tyre tread forces it to lose contact with the road

Shock absorbers need to be checked on a regular basis, they:

  • Are a safety critical item that provides better road holding
  • Keep the tyre on the road, ensuring maximum safety and grip at all times
  • Should be fitted in pairs to retain vehicle stability

Testimonials

Together we developed a new tyre policy which has put the ability to manage our tyres directly back into our own hands. As well as changing supplier, we've also changed the brand of tyres we're fitting too - plus ATS Euromaster carry out an in-depth tyre inspection every month.
