Relationship Built on Trust

"ATS Euromaster has been our sole tyre service provider since we started out in 1992. We chose the company for its quality of service, and for the industry-specific advice available at its specialist agricultural centres.

ATS Euromaster's technicians have a great understanding of the agricultural industry and they are on hand with advice at the drop of a hat. Such frequent contact has led to us building a strong relationship and we trust them implicitly to take care of all our tyre management needs.

As well as our agricultural business on the Isle of Wight, we run Feedback Atency, a waste management and recycling company on the mainland. The vehicles we use there operate in harsh environments such as landfill sites and we need tyres suitable for off-road applications. Just as at the farm, ATS Euromaster can meet our industry-specific needs and, again, there is a centre nearby.

From an administrative point of view the fact they can look after our two very different operations makes life a lot easier for us.”

Andrew Hodgson, Partner
A & C Hodgson Farms

A & C Hodgson is a tenancy agricultural business covering three farms and spanning approximately 1,600 acres. Half of the farm is dedicated to livestock, comprising 500 cattle and 2,000 ewes, and the rest is arable land. Crops include milling wheat, oilseed rape, malting barley, and grain maize for feeding livestock.

Business Requirement
The farm's fleet of agricultural machinery includes four John Deere tractors, two self-propelled Multidrive sprayers, two trailed sprayers, four telescopic handlers and one combine harvester. Additional machinery operating on the mainland includes two self-propelled Multidrive tractors and two trailed spreaders. These are used to cover 40,000 acres of arable land throughout the southern counties each year, applying bio-solids to arable land.

The soil on the farm is flinty, meaning a high-quality, damage-resistant product is needed for activities such as crop spraying and harvesting. An economy brand is also required for less demanding applications such as moving animal feed around the farmyard.

Arable farming is hugely weather-dependent and for that reason minimising unplanned machine downtime is critical. A & C Hodgson also requires a supplier which is constantly abreast of the latest tyre technology, to ensure its fleet can deliver the best possible productivity, backed up by the reassurance of access to prompt mobile assistance in the event of a tyre-related breakdown.

ATS Euromaster's Approach
The local centre in Newport is one of a network of specialist agricultural hubs operated by ATS Euromaster in all of the major farming heartlands around the UK. These centres hold an impressive stock of agricultural tyres, including brands such as Michelin, Kleber, Trelleborg, Taurus and Stomil.

Technicians in Newport are expertly trained to fit and service tyres across the A & C Hodgson fleet. They also offer advice on selecting high-quality, robust products suitable for crop spraying and harvesting on flinty soil, as well as the best ranges for specific machines and applications.

The Newport facility is also an accredited Michelin Exelagri centre - recognising its ability to supply a high quality service to customers in both the agricultural and construction sectors. This gives A & C Hodgson full confidence that the services being delivered locally have been endorsed by Michelin, and that ATS Euromaster's expertise in the farming sector is second-to-none.

ATS Euromaster's Solution
ATS Euromaster fits the customer's machinery with products individually selected to suit each application around the farm. Michelin’s MultiBib, Power CL and XMCL tyres are amongst the most popular fitments, together with Kleber trailer tyres and economy forklift truck tyres for farmyard use.

ATS Euromaster carries out all tyre service work required by A & C Hodgson, including:

  • Tyre specification, supply, fitment and repair
  • Wheel alignment
  • Ballasting
  • Conversion
  • 24/7 rapid response service

Technicians from the Newport centre also provide fast-fit expertise for A & C Hodgson’s smaller vehicles which include a number of 4x4s. In addition to tyres, this includes the fitment of batteries, brakes, exhausts and shocks, plus carrying out MOTs.

Experts at the local centre also provide an annual on-farm product review for the customer, to ensure A & C Hodgson is using the best and most up-to-date products on the market and getting maximum value from its tyre policies.

ATS Euromaster has been a supplier to A & C Hodgson for eighteen years.
