What you should know
The correct wheel nut torque is important because it avoids damage to the vehicle and allows the wheel to be removed.
Incorrectly tightened wheel nuts can have serious consequences. If the wheel nuts are too tight:
- Studs could break and/or become difficult to remove
- Cracks in the rims, deformation, vibrations
- Deformed threads
- Damage to brake discs and/or drums
If the wheel nuts are too loose:
- Damage to the wheel fixings and/or vehicle hut
- Damage to the threads
- Wheel loss
ATS Euromaster use calibrated torque wrenches to achieve the correct tightening to torque.
