Nationwide fast-fit expert ATS Euromaster is on target to increase the number of centres performing MOTs by 20 per cent to 100 centres before the end of 2010, with a similar increase planned for 2011.
The drive to install new MOT test bays is part of a strategic move to offering additional service, maintenance and repair (SMR) facilities for both the fleet sector and private motorists.
Huw Williams, Group Marketing Director at ATS Euromaster, explains: “Expanding our MOT coverage is a natural step forward for the business. The increase in the number of company vehicles being kept beyond three years means many more businesses are now requiring MOTs for their fleet.
“Fleet managers are under increasing pressure to trim running costs, and by ramping up our SMR offering, we can help them to meet that challenge head-on,” he adds.
The growth in MOT availability follows a significant investment this year introducing Bosch diagnostic equipment across the ATS Euromaster network. This rollout is already enabling the company’s skilled technicians to read error codes, carry out complex fault diagnostics and service electronic braking systems on the latest car and van models from most, if not all, manufacturers – providing a flexible and low-cost alternative to visiting a main dealer.
ATS Euromaster has also introduced air-conditioning servicing at 11 of its centres on a trial basis in 2010. If the service proves popular, this will be rolled out across the network during 2011.
