Motiva Group Rolls Out New Tyre Policy

ATS Euromaster has increased its share of business with Motiva Group from 30 to 100 per cent, under a new tyre fitment policy which has seen the FN50* company select Michelin as its preferred tyre brand across its fleet, which includes over 3,500 cars.

The new agreement spans each of Stoke-on-Trent-based Motiva Group’s leasing and rental arms, including Motiva Vehicle Contracts and M-Way Vehicle Rentals.

It will see ATS Euromaster supply and fit Michelin tyres across the Motiva fleet using its 1,000 mobile service vehicles and 380 fast-fit centres to ensure comprehensive fast-fit support nationwide.  The deal replaces a previous arrangement which saw tyre fitment shared between Kwik-Fit and ATS Euromaster, with a predominantly Pirelli-based policy.

Gary Williams, Operations Director of Motiva Group, says: “ATS Euromaster has developed a solid understanding of our business and we’ve been impressed with their attention to detail.  Having access to the largest mobile tyre fitting fleet in the country is also a significant benefit, particularly in a market where having tyres fitted at a customer’s home or place of work is becoming increasingly popular.

“The decision to offer a Michelin-based replacement policy also delivers added value to our customers, with Michelin widely regarded as the premium fitment in the fleet market,” he adds.

As part of the contract, ATS Euromaster is using its Phoenix authorisation system to manage the approval process for all new tyre fitments.  This allows centre staff to verify that a vehicle is under contract, assess whether work requested meets the pre-defined rules agreed with Motiva and then ensures that any work undertaken is charged accurately.  It also speeds up the process for the customer, allowing online authorisations to be gained swiftly, meaning downtime is kept to a minimum.

The information gathered during the authorisation can then be used to produce detailed management information for Motiva, helping ensure that its fleet is operating at maximum efficiency.  Reports range from how many tyres a vehicle has had fitted in a given time through to highlighting vehicles which suffer regular tyre damage, including tyre theft or vandalism.  It allows Motiva to monitor any changes in tyre purchasing behaviour, tracking tyre sales by size and speed rating, to allow accurate cost control and forecasting.

ATS Euromaster will also be carrying out routine fleet tyre inspections for Motiva customers where a large number of vehicles are located at the same time, such as company car parks.  These checks help to support a customer’s Duty of Care requirements and allow technicians to record the tread depth and overall condition of each tyre, with any replacements or servicing work required either carried out by a mobile technician on-site or at a local service centre.
