Haulage firm Panalpina World Transport has today confirmed a deal for its UK road fleet that will see ATS Euromaster supply Michelin tyres to its trucks
Under the agreement, ATS Euromaster will provide Panalpina's 40 trucks and 80 trailers with Michelin tyres across its UK network of supply and MOT test centres.
The deal represents a major coup for the tyres supplier, with the haulage firm currently operating across Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Cyprus and Africa.
At present, the bulk of Panalpina World Transport's fleet are split between depots in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, with ATS Euromaster providing road the clock access to its roadside rapid response fleet.
The haulage firm have agreed to the deal in an attempt to increase vehicle reliability while reducing instances where damaged tyres have created periods of downtime for the firm.
Commenting on the deal World Transport's area head of overland transport operations oil and gas northwest Europe Brian Pirier welcomed the change.
"Reliability runs through the heart of everything we do and our tyre policy needs to reflect this. It's why we've always fitted predominantly Michelin tyres," he said.
"By appointing ATS Euromaster we're looking to combine the benefits of a one-stop-shop supplier offering a fully-managed tyre service, complete with Europe-wide roadside support via a single point of contact."
