Vegetable distribution business Huntapac has signed a new three-year deal with Michelin Fleet Solutions which will see the firm provide tyres across the company’s fleet.
Compounds will be regularly checked and fitted on the Preston-based firm’s 48 tractor units, 42 tipper trailers and 56 temperature-controlled trailers.
All of the company’s tractor units will be fitted with the XZE2+ Michelin tyres along with XDE2 Remix tyres, while its trailers will utilise the firm's XTE3 tyres.
Tyre fitting specialist ATS Euromaster meanwhile will take on service provider duties, providing monthly compound inspections and replacements over the course of the deal.
As such, Huntapace will be able to take advantage of the firm’s nationwide fleet of mobile tyre fitting service vans.
Transport manager John Bell explained that the deal was struck because of the “reliable, fuel efficient and cost-effective” nature of compounds on offer.
"The seasonal nature of our business means tyre wear varies throughout the year, but the Michelin rubber always performs brilliantly,” he said.
The agreement will come into effect in the next few months.
