Hankook Tire has announced a new agreement with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) that will see the firm supply tyres to the company from May this year.
Under the plans, Hankook Tyres will be supplied to the DTNA's Freightliner Cascadia and Coronado models, as part of a new original equipment supply agreement.
According to an announcement made at the 2012 Mid-American Truck Show, these freightliner trucks will feature Hankook's popular AL11 steer and DL11 driver tyres.
The AL11 compound has been designed to work at optimum efficiency during long haul driving conditions, with extended mileage provided.
Meanwhile, the DL11 tyre has been created using a special three dimensional kerf design created to reduce compound abrasion while maintaining traction control.
Commenting on the new agrrement, Hankook Tire president Jin-Wook Choi described the deal at "another critical proof point of our strong brand".
“As our growth continues throughout 2012 and in the years ahead we look forward to extending not only this relationship but also expanding further in the global premium truck tyre market," he said.
