The inherent benefits of eco-driving should make the implementation of fuel and emission reduction procedures a "no brainer" for fleet operators, according to Brake development manager Roslyn Cumming.
This assertion comes as the road safety charity prepares for its first seminar on the subject of eco-driving, with fleet managers invited to attend the event and learn about the ways in which they can go about reducing fuel costs and emissions alongside road risk.
Sponsored by GreenRoad Technologies, the event, which is entitled "Eco-driving: planning and implementing effective procedures" is scheduled to take place next Tuesday (May 15th) in Leeds.
The seminar will provide some insight into the successful implementation of an eco-driving campaign in both theory and practice.
Dr Michael Coyle, the director of fuel efficiency at M2 Training Limited, will be on hand to implement the campaign as well as outlining the benefits of fewer emissions, reduced fuel costs, less collisions and lower insurance premiums.
Ms Cumming meanwhile welcomed the introduction of more eco-driving initiatives.
"It's also a great opportunity to demonstrate to all stakeholders the action you're taking to reduce your company's impact on the environment," she said.
The seminar is set for next week.
