Car sharing network Zipcar has entered into a new contract agreement with ATS Euromaster that will see the firm provide Michelin tyres across its UK fleet.
The tyre fitting specialists already carry out compound maintenance and repair on the company's 1,800 cars and vans which includes the Audi A3 and the Volkswagen Golf, Polo, Transporter and Caddy ranges.
Under the deal, Michelin tyres will gradually be introduced, with Zipcar UK head of fleet David Cruickshank citing the quality of the firm's compounds as the chief reason behind the new agreement.
"We have chosen Michelin for three main reasons; safety, durability and longevity," he said.
"The safety of our members is paramount and the team at Michelin has demonstrated to us how the braking response of our vehicles will improve, thanks to the reduced stopping distances of their higher quality tyres."
Primarily based in the US, Zipcar offers users the chance to reserve rental cars across Bristol, Cambridge, Oxford and London.
