Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has attributed his victory in the Chinese Grand Prix to his team's careful management of the Pirelli tyres used in the race.
The win represents Rosberg's first ever Grand Prix title and comes after a memorable weekend for the German driver that saw him start in pole position for the race in Shanghai, following an excellent qualifying session.
He was able to make the starting advantage count too, with the 26-year-old finishing over 20 seconds of ahead of McLaren's Jenson Button who was second.
Despite enjoying an impressive maiden win though, Rosberg was eager to point out the important role that managing the Pirelli compounds played.
"It was all about tyre management," he explained in video blog.
"There was not one lap in the race where you could go flat out. You really have to take it carefully and manage the tyres, so it's very challenging. But it worked out fine, and the strategy was also perfect," he said.
Lewis Hamilton currently leads the championship standings after finishing third in China.
