Di Resta: Tyre strategy should have been more aggressive

17th October 2011

Formula One driver Paul Di Resta believes he should have adopted a more aggressive tyre strategy at yesterday's (16th October) Korean Grand Prix.

Force India star Di Resta managed to secure a tenth-place finish in Korea but rued the decision to start the race with soft Pirelli tyres.

"In terms of tyres, we probably should have been a bit more aggressive with the strategy and used my new super softs at the start of the race, rather than the used set, but I'm not sure it would have changed where we finished," he said.

"Still, every point counts come the end of the year and we've managed to gain a point on Sauber, which is important."

Di Resta added that the Toro Rosso drivers proved too strong on the day, with the British driver unable to hold off the challenge of Sebastien Buemi in the final laps of the race.

Red Bull clinched the constructor's championship yesterday after drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber finished first and third respectively.
