Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali has told his team to step up their efforts this season and get to grips with the new tyres in the sport.
The warning follows a disappointing weekend in Bahrain, which left lead driver Fernando Alonso some ten points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel.
Ferrari and Alonso had enjoyed a positive start to the 2012 season, following the Spaniard's success at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
However, subsequent races in Shanghai and Sakhir have seen Alonso finish a dismal ninth and seventh respectively, while teammate Felipe Massa has fared even worse.
Domenicali is now calling for the drivers, and more importantly the Ferrari team, to buck up their ideas.
"We must step up a gear, right from the next race …Tyres seem to be the most important factor," he said.
The Ferrari boss also called on his team to develop a better understanding of "their behaviour in order to settle on a strategy for the race and also for qualifying".
