Avon tyres are set to be unveiled as the official compound for the Italian GT and Italian Sportscar Championships for the next two seasons.
The deal will see the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, which owns the Avon brand, supply tyres to the sport for the coming 2012 and 2013 campaigns.
It follows the recent announcement that Avon tyres will also be supplied to the European and Dutch GT4 series and follows the firm's continued association with the British GT Championship.
An array of impressive cars will feature in the 2012 Italian GT championship, including the Ferrari 458 and 430s as well as a Porsche 997 RSR and Aston Martin DBS among others.
Many of the teams competing in the competition have already tested out Avon compounds after the firm debuted its fourth-generation GT tyres at the Gulf 12 Hours race in Abu Dhabi.
Paul Coates, general manager for Avon Motorsport, noted the firm had "reached a standard where Avons are the tyre of choice for competitors and series organisers at both domestic and international levels".
