Pirelli has selected its medium and soft tyre compounds for the Indian Formula One (F1) Grand Prix.
The manufacturer said that this combination will be the best combination to encourage close racing at the Buddh International Circuit in Delhi.
Paul Hembery, the company's director of motorsport, said the P Zero White medium and P Zero Yellow soft Pirelli tyres will be available to the teams in India.
It is the first time the combination has been on offer during a race weekend since Budapest in July for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Mr Hembery added: "For the last two years running we've actually gone for the hard and soft compounds, which might have been slightly on the conservative side, so this year we've gone for a softer and slightly more aggressive choice."
The move may be down to the fact that recent races have been dominated by Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, who could claim the drivers' championship in India this weekend.
