Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli is set to encourage Formula One (F1) teams to use soft tyres for the upcoming Korean Grand Prix.
With the Championship expected to be resolved following the completion of this Sunday's (9th October) Japanese Grand Prix, Pirelli is planning to take a more aggressive stance on tyre choice to analyse the effect it has on the race.
In an interview with Autosport, Paul Hembery, motorsport director for Pirelli, revealed the firm will encourage teams to use soft Pirelli tyres and then "see what happens".
He told the news provider: "It might be a four stop, but we have said all along that we are aiming for two or three.
"We don't have testing so sometimes we are going to push things, and it will make it easier if the championship is decided. We need to understand that for next season to make our choice aggressive again."
The Korean Grand Prix is due to be held on 16th October.
