Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli has claimed that the upcoming Korean Grand Prix will be a tight race due to its supersoft tyres.
The firm has announced that Formula One (F1) teams at this Sunday's (16th October) race will be using its P Zero Yellow soft tyre and its P Zero Red Supersoft model.
A spokesperson for the company claimed that the two types of Pirelli tyres are ideal for the tight street circuits of Korean and Singapore.
They said: "Korea is a semi-permanent venue, with characteristics that we believe should be well-suited to these two tyres.
"We've seen in the past that the extra performance of the supersoft tyres in particular gives teams plenty of opportunities to come up with some interesting strategies, which often leads to a close finish."
The Korea International Circuit is a 55-lap track located in Yeongam, South Jeolla. Last year, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso won the race ahead of Lewis Hamilton and team mate Felipe Massa.
