Tyre manufacturer Pirelli is testing next season's Formula One (F1) tyres at an event in Barcelona this week, it has been revealed.
Lucas di Grassi, the Italian firm's test driver, has confirmed that he is currently trialling the new Pirelli tyres at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Furthermore, F1 teams may be able to get a look at the tyres during the young driver's trial event held in Abu Dhabi in mid-November.
"We will use the 2012 tyre if the teams want," said motor sport director Paul Hembery.
The rookies' test, which follows the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit, will feature a number of promising youngsters, according to German publication Auto Motor und Sport.
Jean-Eric Vergne is set to appear for Red Bull, while Finnish test driver Valtteri Bottas will be turning out for Williams. Gary Paffett will be in action for McLaren and Jules Bianchi will be driving for Ferrari.
