Cars racing at the final round of the GP2 and GP3 motor racing events will be fitted with Pirelli tyres.
The Italian firm's P Zero GP2 and GP3 hard compound tyres will be worn by all the cars competing at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza track from 9th to 11th September.
Hard compound tyres are an ideal choice for drivers at the upcoming event as they provide very low downforce to help cars make their way around the fast straights and tight chicanes of the Monza track.
Mario Isola, Pirelli' racing manager, revealed that the tyres are designed to provide the maximum endurance in the toughest conditions
He said: "Hard compound tyres are less grippy compared to softer options, but they are best suited to high-speed tracks characterised by high-speed straights and dramatic corners such as Monza.
"This is because they take longer to get up to ideal operating temperature, resulting in higher levels of performance and durability.”
The GP2 and GP3 Series are feeder competitions for Formula One, with current F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg among those to make the step up.
