The new Pirelli Tyres, to be used during the 2012 Formula One World Championship, will be unveiled on January 25th, it has been announced
That is according to reports from Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat, which revealed that Pirelli president Marco Tronchetti Provera would present the new compounds later this month.
Pirelli's latest tyres will make their debut at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, in what will be the first sighting of the new designs.
Reports indicate that the new compounds will be softer with the Italian manufacturer evidently eager to impress, following last year's fine debut in the sport.
McClaren boss Martin Whitmarsh was among those praising last season's compounds which he argued provided "a great contribution to the show".
The new compounds will be unveiled two weeks before official pre-season testing for the Formula One season begins in Jerez.
Melbourne is set to host the first Grand Prix of the season on the weekend of March 16th.
