Renault Sport Technologies has struck up a deal that will see it using Dunlop tyres on cars in a major European racing championship.
The Business Desk reports that Sport Maxx racing tyres will be used as the official tyre supplier for seven events in the Clio Cup, which takes place across Europe.
As a result of the new partnership, the tyres will be fitted to special purpose built race cars for National Championships in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, France and Sweden, as well as Bohemia Championship events in Germany, Austria Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Jean-Felix Bazelin, general manager of Dunlop Motorsport, told the news provider that the tyre company has a long history of working with Renault.
"Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres are specified on the award winning Megane Renault Sport 250 model, and we are proud to be appointed as the partner to the Clio Cup, which is established as one the most popular racing categories in Europe with fans and competitors alike."
Among the other events that Dunlop Tyres sponsor are the International GT Open, the British Touring Car Championship and the 24-hour races in Dubai, Barcelona and Silverstone.
