Reigning Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel has today (April 20th), admitted his focus remains on ensuring he performs as well as he can on the sports Pirelli tyres.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's race in Bahrain, the Red Bull Renault driver admitted the off-track events in the region were of little concern.
Some officials have called for the Grand Prix to be called off following violent clashes in the region over the last few days.
However, the German driver gave his backing for the race to go ahead, noting that there had been few problems around the track itself.
"Generally, being in the paddock, there seems to be no problem," he said.
"It is not a big problem and I am happy once we start testing tomorrow because then we can start worrying about the stuff that really matters like tyre temperatures."
Vettel will be eager to resume his pursuit of what would be a third consecutive world championship crown.
The 24-year-old is currently 17 points off leader Lewis Hamilton.
