Driver Sebastien Loeb has attributed his and teammate Daniel Elena's success in the 80th Monte Carlo Rally to their choice of Michelin tyres during the race.
Loeb and Elena celebrated their sixth win in the Principality, which saw the eight-time World Champions picked up three bonus points for winning the Power Stage.
Following four days of racing, the popular duo took the 5.16 kilometre final stage of the eighteen-stage event travelling from Ste Agnes to the Col de la Madone.
Driving on the Citroen DS3 World Rally Championship car, the pair were delighted to record the fastest time at the event, giving them an extra three points in the World Rally Championship.
Commenting on his team's victory in the competition, Loeb singled out their preparation with the tyres used.
"We had to deal with all sorts of conditions and my lead was largely built on better tyre choices, which were mainly down to the work of Citroen Racing’s technical team," he said.
"We were able to choose between five types of tyres and we always managed to pick the right tyres for the circumstances."
