This weekend's Formula 1 Grand Prix poses one of Pirelli's biggest challenges of the season, it has revealed.
The Italian company will be bringing soft and supersoft Pirelli tyres to the annual night race, which is one of the most anticipated F1 events of the year.
Due to the region's temperamental weather patterns, high levels of humidity and a winding track with plenty of sharp turns, tyre management may well have a big say in who takes the chequered flag.
Paul Hembery, director of Pirelli Motorsport, said: "Singapore is a race that adds a unique and truly spectacular new dimension to the Formula 1 calendar.
"Our tyres have to work equally effectively within a wide range of parameters, and this is one of the biggest challenges for us over the course of the year."
Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel will be looking to take another step towards a second successive world championship in Singapore.
He is currently more than 100 points ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in second, with Jenson Button of McLaren in third.
