TyreSafe has revealed that its latest industry briefing was the biggest and most successful it has ever held, with more than 170 delegates attending.
The event took place in early May and was open to anyone with an interest in tyres and road safety, and attracted everyone from retailers to fleet operators.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting was the problem of part-worn tyres, with the campaign group recently warning that 98 per cent of these non-new tyres are being sold illegally.
Attendees were also given an introduction to TyreSafe's new tyre labelling educational material, which is set to launch on July 1st.
Stuart Jackson, the organisation's president, commented: "The signs were already positive before the event as places were booked out in record time. However, what really made it a success on the day was the active participation of delegates."
Another briefing is set to take place in late summer, shortly before the start of the annual Tyre Safety Month.
