Britons seem to be happier than ever with their cars, a survey from the car magazine Auto Express has revealed.
The Driver Power Top 100 found from 50,000 responses that the average rating of satisfaction with a car was 88.36 per cent.
This is a rise of seven per cent from 81.75 points, which was recorded when the survey began in 2002.
Editor in chief at Auto Express Steve Fowler said: “The UK car market is booming at the moment with over two years of consecutive growth and new car registrations up three per cent, and it is no surprise given the Driver Power results. Britons are happier than ever with their cars, scoring their vehicles much more highly than in previous years.”
Drivers also gave a view of which vehicle was working best for them. Skoda managed to take the top three positions for the best car to have, with the Yeti coming in first with 92.7 per cent, followed by the Citigo with 92.6 per cent and then the Superb with 91.6.
This is the third year in a row when the Skoda Yeti has been voted as the best car overall. According to the survey, it is considered to be the easiest to drive while the Citigo is the most affordable to drive.
Meanwhile, the MG6 was voted as the best performing car that is made in the UK.
Drivers who are happy with their vehicles should also consider ways to make them last longer. Ensuring they get their annual service is an important way of doing this as it lowers the risk of needing to repair the car, keeping it in top condition for as long as possible. Not to mention, it means the car will hold its resale value better when the owner decides it is time to switch vehicles.
ATS Euromaster has a number of expert technicians who can complete an annual service. They offer two different types of service, a standard and a comprehensive one.
