Pirelli's GM6 tyres have won praise from Rally drivers following Gwyndaf Evans' victory at the Roger Albert Clark Rally last weekend.
The rally represents one of the most popular events of the annual race calendar and saw Evans star alongside the specially developed Pirelli tyres, which came to the fore following adverse weather conditions.
Drivers encountered rain, sleet, snow and ice as part of the course, which began in Duncombe Park in Yorkshire last Friday.
But the special GM6 tyres, which had been specifically designed for rallying in a 13-inch version with the KM pattern, were a worthy match to the adverse conditions.
Providing grip, stability and most importantly durability, the Pirelli compounds survived a gruelling course over Cumbria and Scotand with 24 stages across 170 miles.
Speaking after the race, Pirelli Tyre UK's motorsport manager Carl Naylor was delighted with the performance of the drivers and the compounds.
"We’re delighted the Pirelli GM6 tyre provided the grip, stability and durability Gwyndaf Evans needed to claim a dominant win," he said.
"Our congratulations to him and all the team at Viking Motorsport, as well as all the other competitors running on Pirelli tyres."
