With the Jubilee weekend set to be a busy time for UK highways, compound safety group Tyresafe is calling on drivers to check their tyres before travelling.
The advice comes as families across the country prepare to set off on a well-earned break, with the Queen's 60 year reign celebrated with a four-day weekend.
But before anyone sets off to visit friends and loved ones this weekend, Tyresafe chairman Stuart Jackson is urging motorists to perform all the necessary checks when it comes to their compounds.
“We want people to enjoy their holidays and arrive safely at their destinations, so that’s why we’re urging them to do a few simple tyre checks before they head off and this includes the spare wheel as well," he said.
In particular, Mr Jackson is calling on drivers to ensure they check tyre air pressure,(add space)condition and most importantly tread depth before setting off.
Should any problem be discovered in the next few days, then motorists can simply visit a tyre fitting specialist, ensuring the weekend's travel runs as smoothly as possible.
