Car manufacturers and motorists all over the world demand a comfortable and quiet journey in their vehicles.
In a bid to meet this demand, tyre companies all over the world have been working to limit the level of noise reaching the cabin through the tyres.
Continental has announced the introduction of ContiSilent, which it claims can reduce tyre noise by up to 9dB, making journeys much more comfortable.
The technology features a coating bonded to the inside of the tread area of the tyres on a vehicle, providing a strong damping effect, limiting noise making its way into the cabin.
The new tyres are compatible with standard rims and fitting processes and will first appear on the Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback models
Audi's flagship A8 will also be equipped with ContiSilent tyres from the ContiSportContact 5 range. Like all other tyres for the Audi RS models, the ContiSilent versions will bear the additional RO1 mark on the sidewall.
