Dunlop: Second season of Moto2 championships a success

The second season of the Moto2 World Championship has been a complete success, according to tyre supplier Dunlop.

This season has been much more competitive than last year, with six different riders winning a race and 16 competitors claiming at least one podium finish.

Viessmann Kiefer Racing driver Stefan Bradl eventually clinched this year's
championship but the title race was much closer than in 2010 when Toni Elias wrapped up the championship with three rounds to go.

Stephen Male, Dunlop motorcycle motorsports manager, claimed that this season has been "tremendously satisfying" for Dunlop, with the tyres helping to contribute to an exciting title race.

"We have very closely fought races, so we can say we have done a good job with our tyre supply," he said.

"In terms of development we have run three different front tyre specifications and seven different rear specifications, including a new one at the very last race of the season. This shows that our progress is ongoing and it will continue in 2012."

Dunlop will remain the sole tyre supplier to Moto2 tyre in 2012.
