Goodyear tyres are set to come as standard for drivers purchasing the new Porsche 911 Carrera 2, the compound manufacturer has announced.
According to tyrepress.com, the tyres are set to be supplied in the sizes 235/40ZR 19 on the front wheels with 285/35ZR 19 on the rear.
The Goodyear tyres have been configured this way to compensate for the rear location of the cars engine and to ensure traction and allow the car to reach 50 break horsepower on tarmac.
Eduard Garrido, marketing manager at Goodyear, said: “The control and braking performance of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, demonstrated in both magazine other benchmarking tests, is a critical factor for the demanding drivers of sportscars such as the Porsche 911."
The addition of the Goodyear compound is the latest chapter in their success story that is the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 tyre, which previously won the Auto Express 2011 tyre test.
