Hankook Tyres donated to African charity initiative

8th February 2012

A total of 12 all-terrain Dynapro MT RT03 Hankook Tyres have been donated to a special African charity initiative promoting sport and education on the continent.

According to reports from Tyrepress, these new tyres have been fitted to two Land Rover Defenders in support of the new Bhubesi Pride Project.

The project is part of an initiative that will see rugby coaching staff travel around Africa for a total of six months visiting 15 schools across ten different African countries.

Once there, these qualified coaches will aim to use the popular game of rugby to help educate both schools and communities while uniting children through sport.

Travelling to South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia, the coaches will encounter difficult terrain along the way, highlighting the important role the new Hankook tyres will play.

The Bhubesi Pride Project is set to continue into 2014 as part of the United Nations "Millennium Development Goals" aimed as inspiring long-term global development.

Speaking to the news provider Hankook Tyre UK managing director Tony Lee said: "We were delighted to supply the Bhubesi Pride team with several sets of tyres to ensure they are able to cope with the varied and complex terrains."

Hankook recently announced a new deal in motorsport which will see the compound manufacturer supplying tyres to two Italian racing championships.
