Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber is now completely at home with Pirelli tyres, he has said ahead of the new season.
Despite a disappointing season by his own high standards the Australian now feels comfortable with the Pirellis, which were put in place as the official F1 tyre for the first time last year.
"Pirelli did a good job to take a lot of the tyres they were looking at for 2012 to the last few races to do some development work," he said.
"Even when I ran those tyres in Abu Dhabi and Brazil and did bits and bobs on them I felt completely at home on them, so that was encouraging for myself and also for the team."
Early in the season, Webber found it difficult to match his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, who swept up all in his path to reach his second consecutive world title.
However, he was in much better shape by the end of the championship and now Webber, who came third in the overall standings behind Vettel and Jenson Button, is relishing the 2012 season.
