Michelin appoints new US president

19th October 2011

French tyre manufacturer Michelin has appointed a new US president as it looks to continue to expand in the country.

Peter Selleck, the former president of Michelin's Truck and Bus division, has taken over from the retiring Richard Wilkerson as chairman and president of Michelin North America.

Mr Selleck will assume responsibility for co-ordinating all Michelin activities in Canada, Mexico and the United States, while Mr Wilkerson will remain a part of the company as chairman emeritus.

"Pete has a keen business insight and a heart for his employees," said Michelin managing partner Jean-Dominique Senard.

"He is one of the key leaders who sets Michelin apart. He has a passion for innovation and is dedicated to transforming mobility. I am confident that Michelin North America will continue to excel under his leadership."

Mr Selleck began his Michelin career in 1982 when he worked at its passenger car and light-truck tyre plant in South Carolina.
