Anglian Water to trial cold weather Michelin tyres

11th July 2012

Anglian Water has revealed it will begin a trial of Michelin's cold weather tyres across its fleet from this winter.

The plans will see all of the firms vehicles fitted with the Michelin tyres in a bid to help its workforce undertake essential duties during potentially tricky weather conditions.

As one of the largest water companies in the UK , the firm caters to some six million domestic and business customers, making the need for reliable compounds a top priority.

Anglian Water will test out Michelin's Alpin A4 Green X and Ailis Alpin tyres which provide improved grip in icy, wet, slushy or snowy conditions.

Dave Crinson, head of fleet sales for Michelin, said: “It is encouraging that companies such as Anglian Water are recognising the benefits cold weather tyres can deliver.

"Michelin understands that businesses need to operate all year round and cold weather tyres can dramatically reduce a fleet’s downtime throughout the winter months."

The advanced winter tyres will be fitted to 70 of the firm's vans from October this year.
