German automaker BMW has confirmed that the soon-to-be-released BMW M6 coupe and convertible models will be fitted and supplied exclusively with Michelin tyres as standard.
Car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of the new car, which represents the latest evolution in the firm's luxury sports car brand. Under the agreement, the automobiles will be fitted with Michelin's Pilot Super Sport tyres.
BMW has reportedly selected the French compound maker's 265/50 ZR19 102Y tyres for the front wheels with the 295/35 zr19 104y fitted on the rear as standard on the new M6.
In addition to this, drivers will also benefit from the choice of 265/35 ZR20 99Y tyres as a front axle option, along with 295/30 ZR20 101Y as an option on the rear.
The decision to opt for Michelin tyres comes following months of testing on the compounds, with 1,200 protoypes tested out at the Nordschleif circuit in Germany and the Ladoux technology centre in France.
It represents the latest endorsement of the products from the firm, which recently won praise for the durability of its tyres, compared with rival brands, during a test using a Ford Focus van.
