Carlsberg extends contract with Michelin

4th April 2012

Carlsberg UK has signed a 12-month extension to its current tyre contract with Michelin Fleet Solutions.

The lager giant has agreed to continue the PPK (pence per kilometre) deal with the French tyre giant, which sees Carlsberg pay for the usage of Michelin tyres across its fleet on a rolling monthly basis – as opposed to buying them outright.

Andrew Davis, Carlsberg UK's national fleet engineer, claimed the agreement enables the firm to budget more efficiently as it knows exactly what its tyre bill will be each month.

"This policy offers us the best all-round performance, taking into account fuel-efficiency, reliability, environmental impact and total cost of ownership," he said.

"Plus it reduces the amount of time we spend managing our own tyres, and means we benefit from expert tyre husbandry and roadside support, 24/7."

As part of the deal which covers approximately 320 commercial vehicles and 147 urban trailers, ATS Euromaster carries out all tyre servicing work such as fitting replacements and repairs.
