The French manufacturer has unveiled a set of new tyres designed for the special Project 56 DeltaWing car set to compete at Le Mans.
This new car is a special project developed to prove it is possible to create an equally fast car on less resources.
Designers are hoping to create a car that can prove competitive in a endurance racing competition using half as much power, fuel and tyres.
As part of this demonstration, the new DeltaWing has received permission from the ACO to take part in the 24 hour Le Mans race in France.
Michelin were tasked with creating the special smaller tyres as part of the concept, with the subsequent results proving effective.
Commenting on the designs, Michelin American Le Mans Series technical team leader Karl Koenigstein said: “The difference in tyre size is stunning.
“You could fit three DeltaWing Michelin front tyres inside an Audi Le Mans Prototype Michelin front tyre.”
The Le Mans 24 Hour race is set to begin on Febriuary 2nd.
