Tyre manufacturer Michelin has received the prestigious honour of the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award at an event held in New York this week (May 2nd).
The compound maker took home the award in recognition of its continued focus on promoting road safety as part of its wider corporate social responsibility.
His royal highness Prince Michael of Kent, who is the royal patron of the Commission for Global Road Safety said:“Michelin is a global leader in road safety innovation, not only through its product development but also in the field of care for its own employees.”
“Its wider corporate commitment to community safety and international programs is an outstanding example to all businesses,” he added.
Representatives from Michelin tyres picked up the honour at what was the inaugural Decade of Action for Road Safety Policy and Donor Forum, which was held in the iconic US city.
Michelin’s commitment to road safety was on display last month, with the compound manufacturer teaming up with ATS Euromaster to providing free tyre inflation checking services for vehicles travelling through the Channel Tunnel.
