Formula One (F1) star Kamui Kobayashi has revealed that managing the temperature of his car's tyres will be one of the key challenges at the upcoming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
This Sunday's (13th November) race on the Yas Marina circuit begins in the early evening and continues after the sun sets, meaning that the track temperature will vary wildly throughout the race.
The Sauber driver claimed that this makes it "even more exciting" for the spectators but presents a unique challenge to competitors.
"The challenge doesn't really come from the changing light, but the track temperature drops significantly when the sun sets," he said.
"This makes it quite difficult to adapt during the race. I also like the track layout and I think it is an exciting event and race for everybody."
Kobayashi added that he has fond memories of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as it was the first race in which he scored championship points after finishing sixth in 2009.
