Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 to feature P-Zero Pirelli Tyres

11th January 2012

The manufacturers of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 have revealed that the car is to feature P Zero Pirelli Tyres as standard.

This decision follows months of research from Lamborghini and engineers at Pirelli, with both parties eager to find the best compounds for the state-of-the-art sports car.

It follows two years of testing Pirelli tyres, with the P Zero compounds chosen because of their specific tread pattern design and robust shoulders, which provided optimum performance on corners and demanding road conditions.

Speaking in an interview about the decision, Lamborghini's chief test driver Giorgio Sanna pointed to the added safety benefits of the Pirelli P Zero tyres.

"New compounds and a maximised footprint allow the Pirelli P Zero™ Tyres to reach exceptional levels of safety in braking," he said.

"The specific tread pattern characteristics give the maximum grip even in wet conditions."

Handling and safety is important for drivers of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 with the lightweight 1500 kg sports car featuring a 700 horsepower engine that takes just 2.9 seconds to reach a speed of 100 km/hr.
