Pirelli slicks performed under pressure at BES homecoming

18th April 2013

Pirelli had a successful homecoming at the opening round of the Blancpain Endurance Series (BES) in Monza. The race, held just 20 kilometres away from the tyre maker’s headquarters in Milan, was supplied entirely by Pirelli.

The Italian tyres shone on their home turf. Dry conditions highlighted the durability, performance and reliability of Pirelli’s race tyres at the world-class endurance race. The BES itself was a resounding success as well, with over 60 GT3 cars on the grid, representing 28 countries.

Ferrari 458 on Pirelli slicks, driven by Cesar Ramon, Davide Rigon and Daniel Zampieri, secured first position. Runners up were Andy Soucek, Antoine Leclerc and Mike Parisy in the McLaren MP4-12C.

Matteo Braga, Pirelli’s senior engineer, was pleased with Pirelli’s performance at the race. “Our tyres adapted well to the demanding nature of the track, benefitting all the competitors – using a wide variety of cars – with their consistency and reliability,” he said. “With such close racing witnessed in Monza, I am looking forward to some more bumper-to-bumper action at the next round at Silverstone in six weeks time”.

ATS Euromaster has a huge selection of Pirelli tyres in stock. Invest in a set for yourself to enjoy maximum performance, grip and durability.
