Pirelli motorsport director Paul Hembery has praised the performance of the Italian manufacturer's new tyres during last week's practice session in Barcelona.
The compound maker introduced its revised Pirelli tyres for the upcoming 2012 Formula One season earlier this month.
Experts and fans alike welcomed the new compound designs, which focused on provider(providing) a faster overall performance while also reducing the lap time difference between the tyres.
Last week's practice in Jerez bought yet more positive feedback for the manufacturer with drivers like McClaren's Jenson Button praising the new designs.
Speaking at the conclusion of the practice event, Mr Hemburg was similarly positive in his assessment of the practice and the reliability of the new Pirelli tyres used.
"It was an extremely productive four days, and we were helped by temperatures that – at least in the afternoons – were more representative of what we will expect to see during the season," he said.
"We got plenty of work done and we're satisfied with the levels of degradation and performance seen so far," he added.
The Pirelli motorsport team are now focusing on next week's final test in Barcelona, with the Formula One world championship set to begin in March.
