Pirelli has revealed the different tyre choices that will be made available to teams competing in rounds four to six of the Formula One season.
The Italian firm has confirmed that different tyre combinations will be used at Bahrain, Spain and Monaco – the three races which follow the Chinese Grand Prix on April 15th.
Medium and soft tyres will be used in the searing heat of Bahrain, with soft and hard compounds set to grace the Circuit de Catalunya track in Spain. Pirelli has opted for super-soft and soft tyres in Monaco.
"Our nominations this year are designed to push the envelope of performance, as can be seen from our latest choices," said Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery.
"Only the super-soft tyre is the same compound as last year: the other compounds are softer and therefore faster, designed to encourage closer racing as well as a wider variety of strategies."
Medium and soft tyres will be used in China, where Red Bull will be looking to get the season up and running after a disappointing start from drivers Mark Webber and reigning champion Sebastian Vettel.
