A pre-season media day to hype the Pirelli-backed 2013 edition of the MSA British Rally Championship series has been announced for next month.
Manufacturers, teams, competitors, press and sponsors have all been invited to take part in the occasion, which occurs at Park Wood, in West Yorkshire, on March 22nd.
Well-known tyre manufacturer Pirelli is very likely to play a part in the media day, seeing as though the firm has been the sole supplier of tyres for the British Rally Championship since 2007.
This partnership is set to continue into 2013, with gravel events presenting title contenders with the opportunity to get to grips with a set of 15-inch Pirelli K6 tyres.
Meanwhile, both 15-inch and 17-inch RX7 tyres and RE7 tyres are to be made available when the asphalt events occur in the 2013 British Rally Championship series.
What's more, 15-inch varieties of Pirelli's N3 tyres are on offer should drivers encounter very wet conditions while trying to navigate the tricky bends and curves of the asphalt courses.
Guests to the 2013 British Rally Championship pre-season media event will be able to sample all of these products should they head out to Park Wood, located near the West Yorkshire village of Tong.
This is because the facility is commonly used as a local rally school in the summer, with teams and competitors set to offer passengers the chance to ride aboard and see the English forest scene from a whole different perspective.
On top of this, the media day enables manufacturers, teams, competitors, press and sponsors associated with the 2013 British Rally Championship to gather in one location two weeks before the new season commences in North Wales.
Mark Taylor, who helps organise the British Rally Championship each year, commented: "The purpose of the media day is for teams and competitors to launch their own 2013 campaigns.
"We provide the marshalled infrastructure free of charge with the express purpose of encouraging competitors to invite their own press, sponsor guests and entertain them with a ride in the rally car, ahead of the new season."
The MSA British Rally Championship has become a cherished part of the UK's motorsport calendar, with the series open to drivers and co-drivers competing in two-wheel-drive class categories.
Each contender will take part in seven qualifying rounds, which take place all across the UK, with the final scores based on the best five results from these events.
The 2013 edition of the British Rally Championship series will commence at the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club, which is host of the Rally of North Wales between April 6th and 7th.
Competitors of this thrilling motorsport will then travel to such locations as the Cumberland Sporting Car Club for the Pirelli Rally and the Royal Scottish Automobile Club for the gravel-based Scottish Rally.
The action for the 2013 season comes to a close between October 18th and 19th with the gravel-based Rallye Sunseeker International competition at the Southern Car Club.
However, there will still be plenty to see after this weekend, as this year's MSA British Rally Championship, NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge and BRC one-make series awards evening is a chance to celebrate the memories of the 2013 season on November 9th. A location for this prestigious occasion is still yet to be confirmed.
