8th February 2012

Pirelli has unveiled its new P Zero Silver tyres which have been specially designed for road cars and influenced by the popular compound used in Formula One.

The new tyres were unveiled at Formula One testing in Jerez de la Frontera in Spain yesterday (February 7th).

Designed primarily for sports car and saloon drivers, the new tyres will offer extended durability alongside high performance.

According to Pirelli's official statement the new compounds have also been designed to cover more than 20,000 kilometres a year on average.

The tyre marks the first the first in a series of highly specialised road car tyres set to be created by the Italian manufacturer.

According to Pirelli the structure, compound and tread pattern design of the Silver have been "developed to resist any deformation in the tyre’s profile, lengthening the tyre’s life and extending the consistency of its performance".

The P Zero Silver will be available in eight different size for 19 to 20 inch wheels and will be available in a limited edition in European markets from April.
