Toyota GB secures Energy Saving Trust award

27th November 2012

Motorists who are concerned about the environmental impact of their car may be interested to learn that Toyota GB has received a 2012 Fleet Hero Award by the Energy Saving Trust.

The honour recognises the company's contribution to reducing carbon emissions and conserving fuel.

Toyota's manager of corporate and social affairs Thomas Rosselle said that the company was "delighted" to receive the award and believes that the business' "commitment goes beyond making cleaner, more fuel efficient vehicles to put environmental concerns at the heart of our company ethos".

Chief executive of the Energy Saving Trust Philip Sellwood suggested that Toyota GB has set the benchmark for environmentally-friendly businesses.

He said the company's commitment to "innovation, leadership and effective management" has helped to cut costs as well as minimise its environmental impact.

In July 2012, Toyota was named the World's Greenest Brand by Interbrand, in a report which looks at a company's environmental performance as well as how the public perceives them.
