England fan warms up for Euro 2012 with number plate purchase

As England fans prepare for the team's assault on Euro 2012, one imaginative supporter has decided to get behind the team with the purchase of a personalised number plate – EN61 AND

The national team, led by captain Steven Gerrard, do not kick-off until Monday (June 11th) with a tricky opener against France in Donetsk, Ukraine.

In the meantime though, Brian Brody of St John's Wood, London has opted to show his support with the purchase of the unique number plate at the DVLA Personalised Registrations auction at City Hall in London yesterday (June 7th).

Mr Brody, who owns a series of pubs in London along with a brewery, felt that the purchase was the perfect way to show his support for Roy Hodgson's team at Euro 2012 and promptly paid  £15,600 for the privilege.

Elsewhere BU11 DOG was the top lot at the auction, fetching an impressive price of £16,400. Former athlete Iwan Thomas also got involved in the sale, taking to the stand to auction the apt registrations REL 44Y and RUN 3R.
