About our AC Recharge Service

A recharge (or regas) for your car air conditioning makes sure that your air-con system is ready to use effectively whenever you need it. Through time and regular use, the gas in your air conditioning system will run low and will need to be replenished before the system can start to operate as designed and blow consistently cold air again.

With 250 centres that offer car air conditioning refill or recharge services throughout the UK, you can be sure to find an ATS Euromaster AC recharge servicing centre near you.

Terms & Conditions: Prices shown online are for combustion engine vehicles only. Please contact your local centre to request a price for a regas for an EV or Hybrid vehicle. We can provide a regas service for vehicles using either R134a (or R1234yf refrigerant at selected centres).  Your vehicle handbook will identify which air conditioning refrigerant your vehicle requires, but generally vehicles registered before 1st January 2017 use R134A refrigerant and those registered after this date tend to use R1234yf refrigerant.

How often should you recharge your car's air conditioning?

Regular checks will ensure that your air conditioning is working at its optimum performance, make driving on hot days a lot more comfortable, and ensure the windscreen stays clear in the winter months.

We recommend that you have your air conditioning system checked for its gas/refrigerant level after the vehicle is two years old, and then annually thereafter, to keep it running healthily. Recharging your car air conditioning system regularly will enable it to continue blowing cold air and operating at optimal performance levels.

If you have any doubts about whether your air conditioning system is operating as it should be, we will be happy to give your vehicle a free temperature test so you can find out whether you would benefit from an AC recharge.

Why recharge your air conditioning?

As well as keeping your car cool in the summer and the windscreen de-misted in the winter, using your air-con regularly will also help it operate as efficiently as possible. However, these systems are not designed to last forever without upkeep.

Air conditioning is kept cool thanks to the refrigerant gas that circulates in the system, making sure that cool air spreads throughout the entire vehicle. The amount of refrigerant gas in your system can drop over time and between system checks.

A drop in refrigerant gas level will result in a loss of system efficiency. As air conditioning checks are not always covered in your annual service or MOT, you should have the system checked routinely to guarantee its long-lasting performance. Read our blog to learn more about what you should do if you find your air conditioning is not working.

At ATS Euromaster, our expert technicians will restore your air conditioning lubricant oil and refrigerant levels in line with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.

How much does it cost to recharge the air conditioning in a car?
