Continental’s EcoContact 6 summer tyre has been specially designed for motorists driving long distances. The Green Chili 2.0 compound developed by Continental’s research teams undoubtedly contributes to this longevity. This innovative compound has the ability to adapt to obstacles in the road, thus cutting down on material loss. Unsurprisingly, the German manufacturer has also provided significant improvements to the tyre, which make it an excellent product both in terms of safety and comfort. Its road handling is ensured by a custom asymmetric tread (3, 4 or 5 sides depending on the tyre’s dimensions) and by the comfort provided by the rounded edges that limit tyre warping at high speeds. This model provides excellent driveability over wet ground thanks to the interplay of ribs and grooves that quickly evacuate water and has received the best European certifications. Another important grading criteria is energy efficiency, which is improved thanks to an optimal balance between tyre mass and compound distribution (particularly of silica) that produces less roll resistance and thus helps reduce fuel consumption.
